The Purpose of the Ages

"in the beginning, GOD-" (Genesis 1:1)

I.  The beginning.  Before age times.

A.  CHRIST the first born of all creation.  The image of the invisible GOD (Colossians 1:15).  The form of GOD (Philippians 2:6).  Chosen before the overthrow.

B.  SATAN, the cherub of the anointing.  Priestly and Kingly functions (Ezekiel 28:12-19).

C.  The OVERTHROW of the world-kosmos (Genesis 1:2).

II.  X.  The ages begin.  Paradise lost.

A.  EARTH

a.  Re-made and blessed (Genesis 1:2 to 3:24).

b.  Subjected to curse.  Thorns and thistles (Genesis 3).

B.  MAN

c.  For a little (while) lower then the angels (Psalms 8).

d.  First Adam a living soul.  The image of GOD (Genesis 1:26; 2:7).

e.  Dominion over the earth (Genesis 1:26).

C.  USURPER

f.  The Nachash.  The shinning one (Genesis 3:1).

g.  Ye shall not surely die (Genesis 3:4).

h.  Ye shall be as gods (Genesis 3:5).

D.  HOPE

i.  The Seed of the woman (Genesis 3:15).

Y.  A.  The days of NOAH.  The nations just before the call of Abraham.

j.  The irruption of the sons of GOD.  The Nephilim (Genesis 6).

k.  Preservation in the Ark.  Noah uncontaminated (Genesis 6:9 to 7:24).

l.  Punishment by the flood for the children of the wicked (Genesis 7 & 8).

m.  Spirits in prison (1st Peter 3:19-22  Jude 6).

B. ABRAHAM

n.  Heir of the world (Christ the Seed)  (Genesis 12  Romans 4:13).

o.  Righteousness by faith (Genesis 15:6).

C.  MOSES

p.  First covenant (given after Passover) broken (Jeremiah 31:32).

q.  Curse pronounced on law-breaker (Deuteronomy 27:26).

D.  DAVID

r.  The kingdom (Christ the Seed)  (2nd Samuel 7).

E.  CHRIST as King of the Jews, born, rejected and crucified (Matthew)

III.  The Mystery hidden since the ages.

a.  The church of the mystery.  The present dispensation.  It's hopes and blessings spiritual, and in the heavenlies.  Inaugurated and completed in "it's own season" (Titus 1:1-3), during the period of Israel's rejection (the later Pauline epistles).

II.  Y.  A.  As it was in the days of NOAH.  The nations just before Israel is saved and blessed.

j.  Rise of anti-Christ, the son of perdition (2nd Thessalonians 2  Revelation 13).

k.  Preservation for those in the Lamb's book of life.  Uncontaminated (Revelation 13:8).

l.  Punishment by fire for worshippers of anti-Christ (Revelation 14:9,10).

m.  The spirits in prison liberated for a season (Revelation 9:14).

B.  ABRAHAMic blessings.

n.  The inheritance entered (Psalm 37  Isaiah 60, 61).

o.  The people all righteous (Isaiah 60:21).

C.  MOSES superseded.

p.  The new covenant based upon the blood of Christ, the true Passover. Never to be broken (Matthew 26:28  Jeremiah 31:31-40).

q.  The curse removed by the death of Christ (Galatians 3:13).

D.  DAVIDic kingdom

r.  The millennial reign (Revelation 20).

E.  CHRIST comes the second time as King, in power and great glory (Revelation).

X.  The consummation of the ages. Paradise restored.

A.  EARTH

a.  Restored and blessed (Hosea 2:18-20).

b.  The curse removed.  Instead of a thorn, the fir tree (Isaiah 55:13).

B.  MAN

c.  The man Christ Jesus far above all (Ephesians 1).

d.  The last Adam a life-giving Spirit.  The express image of GOD (Hebrews 1;  1st Corinthians 15).

e.  Dominion over heaven and earth (Matthew 28).

C.  TRUE HEIR

f.  The Lamb is the light of the city, and He is the brightness of the Father's glory (Revelation 21:23).

g.  Immortality conferred on believers (1st Corinthians 15).

h.  Christ has pre-eminence (Colossians 1).

D.  HOPE

i.  Creation's groan hushed.  The Seed of the woman, of Abraham and of David has come (Revelation).

I.  The end (1st Corinthians 15:24).  The purpose of the ages finished.

A.  CHRIST, the head of all things.  Acknowledged as Lord.  Firstborn of all creation.

B.  THE CHURCH, in the heavenly holiest of all.  Satan, death and Hades destroyed (Revelation 20:10,14  Hebrews 2:14).

C.  The RECONCILIATION of all things.  "As it was in the beginning" (Colossians 1:20).

 

"GOD all in all" (1st Corinthians 15:28).
